90 Second Keto Bread is a super easy recipe made with simple ingredients that can literally be made in 90 SECONDS!
The combination of simple ingredients gives this keto friendly bread structure for your favorite toppings and stuffings that you can make in almost no time with only a microwave.
This microwavable keto bread is perfect for lunchtime when work is busy, or even for breakfast to put a few fried eggs on.
These pieces of 90 second keto bread actually make great English muffins as well, or the perfect toast to make some delicious eggs benedict.
Spread your favorite toppings on the bread, or toast it for a delicious crunch.
Almond flour is super healthy, and often considered one of the healthiest nut flours in the world.
Melted butter, peanut butter, almond butter and Vegemite (Aussie tradition) are all great spreads to put on keto bread.
Can I Make 90 second keto bread With Coconut Flour?
You can most certainly make this recipe using only coconut flour (or sesame flour, if allergic to nuts and coconut as well).
Simply use:
- 3 tablespoons of coconut flour
(Instead of 1/4 cup almond flour + 1 Tbsp coconut flour like the recipe suggests)
Can I make this keto bread dairy free?
This bread can be made easily with coconut oil instead of butter, which also makes it paleo friendly.
Substitute 1 tablespoon of coconut oil for 1 tablespoon of butter.
You can also try olive oil, which makes a delicious substitute as well.
Does this keto bread taste eggy?
This bread is the least eggy keto bread of all, simply because the egg is cooked thoroughly from the outside in by using a microwave, instead of an ordinary oven.
Best of all, you can just make enough to taste test, to see if this recipe is right for you, instead of making a whole loaf of keto bread, and finding out later.
Can I make keto bread in the oven?
You can make this in the oven, instead of the microwave, simply by:
- Using an oven-safe mug/ramekin
- Setting your oven to 180C (355F) and cooking for 15 minutes.
I do recommend you toast this bread, only because it tastes better this way. This is up to you, but I always find it better.
Don’t hesitate to try this bread! It’s similar to a wholemeal slice that is in whatever shape your nearest container is in.

Felt like I was eating regular bread after toasting it! I added a pinch of salt. Will try it again with just coconut flour.

Thanks for this worked very well. Nice, fast and simple, great for eggs.
Have you ever tried channa flour (chickpea flour) for making these breads?
We are reducing, not totally eliminating carbs, and I wondered if you had any suggestions. Its used a lot in Indian cooking. Cheers

Hi Jackie,
I haven’t tried using channa flour. We sometimes call it besan flour here. You might need to experiment for yourself.

This “90 Second Keto Bread” made with almond flour, coconut flour, melted unsalted butter, baking powder, and one extra-large egg, baked right up in the microwave.
It briefly rose above the rim of the mug, then collapsed back into the mug to make a 3″ high, 2.5 inch round “loaf” that cut smoothly into four 3/4″ slices.
Feels like CrackerBarrel cornbread, (a bit dry, and may drop a crumb when biting into it).
Has obvious coconut hint but zero egg taste.
Toasted and smothered with butter or garlic butter, it is divine.

Must say, I was very sceptical. Have tried many Keto breads with egg that say they don’t taste like bread, but they do. Made this version, exactly as suggested and toasted it. I must admit I could smell the egg still while cooking. First few mouthfuls could also taste the egg, but only mildly. I persevered not wanting to waste it, and must admit after a couple more mouthfuls the slight eggy taste disappeared. Although I toasted it as suggested, I would recommend really toasting it. A part of it was golden brown toasty and really tasted so much better. I look forward to making this again soon.

I did the version which I used pure coconut flour. You have given a substitute which is 3 Tablespoons and I did that and the rest was followed. It did not expand and when mixing it became like a paste? I microwaved it for 90 seconds and it tastes sandy an very dry. I think 3 Tablespoons of coconut flour is too much. I will be adjusting it next time

Can this be made without coconut flour?

Hello Aaron
First of all thank you for your channel your recipes look great. However, I’ve only tried the chocolate chip cookies which I feel are one of the best
recipes out there.
The mug bread however still needs work. it has no flavor and taste like cardboard. I added cinnamon and monkfruit to try and spice up the taste but it wasn’t enough maybe I needed to add more flavor, I also didn’t see any salt and I think it needs just a little.
Please continue to work on this recipe we the Keto community needs something like this but it needs to taste good.
Thanks for your hard work.
